Hello, my name is Charlotte, The Smart Doula
I am a Virtual Doula, providing bespoke evidence-based support to families who want an empowering birth.
With 10 years + of clinical research experience, a biomedical science degree, and two hospital births under my belt, I use my knowledge to support you in making informed decisions about your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
I support all types of birth, including hospital births, helping you to navigate NHS guidelines.

Your instincts are right!
Evidence has shown that continuity of care (being supported by the same person in pregnancy and birth) improves both the outcomes (for you and the baby) and the overall experience.
Doula support has been associated with a higher chance of spontaneous vaginal birth and a positive birthing experience.
If an in-person doula doesn't feel right or isn't possible for you right now, virtual doula support has been shown to be as effective.
